The USA Rulebook uses its own complete Chapter One, in substitution for the IUF Chapter One. I will make edits to the 2017 USA Chapter One and submit it as a proposal when I have it ready to be open for comments.

Thanks, Mike.

The IUF has this in chapter one:

1B.6 Transgender Riders

The IUF is committed to providing an open and safe environment for people of all genders. A rider may register with the gender (male or female) with which the rider identifies most.

There is nothing like this in the USA chapter one. Perhaps I'm jumping the gun but I'd like to propose we add it.

I agree that we should add the text about transgender riders.

1C.12 Program Book

At Unicons, all registrants shall be provided with a package of pre-printed information containing a full schedule of all events, maps and directions to all event locations, and as much rule and background information as possible. This information shall be provided when registrants first check in at Unicon. Unicon organizers should consider placing as much of this information as is practical in an official Program Book.

Suggestion: change wording to include electronic resource

I agree with Nancy. We should not require a physical program book at NAUCC.

I propose

The IUF is committed to providing an open and safe environment for people of all genders. A rider may register with the gender (male or female) with which the rider identifies most and that will be used for all competitions.

Comment

I agree with both the transgender proposal and the electronic program.

Comment

I agree with the transgender text and not requiring a paper program book.

I agree with the transgender proposal. The text Jill provided clarifies a bit better. Not requiring a paper program book is fine too. Even though it's not required, it is nice to have at least some of that information in printed format available.

The IUF Rulebook has added Cyclocross as a required event. I like that idea for adding this to NAUCC. The other thing that has happened is they avoid 10k and Marathon for the list, instead opting for 2 races that fit definitions in Chapter 3.

The issue I see, possibly with the Marathon more likely is the requirement of measurement in the rulebook. We have had several Marathons which don't fit the measurement accuracy requirements. Since ours typically are more for speedy scenic tours on back roads, I think we should just change the text to fit the IUF.

The IUF Rulebook uses these 2 lines:

• Road Racing: at least two races, see specific requirements in chapter 3.

• Muni: Cross Country, Uphill, Downhill, Cyclocross; see chapters 4 and 5.

1C.2 Required Events at NAUCC

NAUCC should include at least the following events. Hosts are free to add events, age

groups, categories or variations that do not appear here, as long as there is no conflict

with the existing rules. When in doubt contact the USA Board.

• Track Racing: 800m, 400m, 100m, One-Foot, Wheel Walk, and IUF Slalom

• Road Racing: 10k and Marathon

• Muni: Cross Country, Uphill, Downhill

• Freestyle: Individual, Pairs, Group, and Club Show

• Flatland and Street

• Trials

• Team Games: Hockey and Basketball

I agree with adding the transgender language. I also agree a paper booklet is not required.

Comment

I agree with both the transgender text and not requiring a paper booklet.

I think adding cyclocross as a required event is also a great idea. Adding to this, I see that high jump and long jump aren't actually required events at NAUCC. The IUF requires all jump events are at Unicon. However, we rarely see high jump onto platform, and we've never seen long jump on platform at NAUCC. I feel we should add high jump and long jump as required events at NAUCC.

Comment

In place of the paper booklet, I suggest having language to the effect of the following:

"Upon request, a printed schedule will be provided."

At NAUCC 2019 we had ~10 people request a printed schedule, which we had ready for print and it was appreciated.

I also agree with Dale on adding high jump over bar, and long jump on track to the required events.

Comment

I agree with Kirsten’s booklet comment and Dales on high jump and long jump
